Day three began with a lot of aches and pains, but the good
news was we were nearly done. We enjoyed
a short devotional service with all the groups, before heading out to the job
sites. Only a few hours of work remained
on this build! We needed to add another
layer of stucco, sponge it smooth, clean the house, and add another coat of
adhesive to the roof. The team knocked
this out, with the help of the new homeowners.
Afterward, Pastor Jeanette led a dedication ceremony, and we turned over
the house. That time was very special,
to see how happy this family was to receive their new home. They were presented with a Bible from
1Mission, and then we were done! Back to
camp for more showers! Later we went
into town for a little beach time, shopping, and a great team dinner. Of course, some of the men could not behave,
and created a small tower of empty oyster shells from the oysters we were
enjoying. Not sure who leads that men’s
group, but he probably needs a stern talking to! We stopped at the orphanage on our way out to
drop off some supplies for the children.
Mission accomplished, and we are headed home to our loved ones. Thank you so much for supporting us, praying for
us, and overall allowing us to make a difference!
